The Folk Group meets on the fourth Monday of each month (variations occurring occasionally in relation to school holidays) in the "Back Room" of the Bay Horse Inn (subject to availability) at 8.00pm.
Members bring acoustic instruments (no amps. please!) which are easily carried and play mostly folk tunes, although it has been known for them to attempt some R&B, old standards, etc.
So far, instruments brought have been a penny whistle, tenor whistle, flute, clarinet, recorders (treble and tenor), fiddle, melodeon, English concertina, 60-bass accordian, four guitars, banjo, ukelele, bodhrun and the human voice, often more than one per person. Membership has been up to about a dozen, though rarely that at every meeting.
Skill levels vary and there are music readers and non-readers.
A warm invitation is extended to local people who would like to come along for a bit of musical fun, with the added incentive of a pint!
